My vision was sooooo great. Got glasses for reading a few months later. I was just wondering if anyone here had to have new glasses every two or five years after surgery.

robbiegirl asked:
My aunt’s husband is going to have cataract surgery at one of those eye clinics that specalize in laser, etc. He is old and stubborn and you cannot tell him anything. He had heart surgery about a year ago, is on medication or suppose to be, and never takes it to any medical visits. The pressure in his eyes as I understand was quite high a month ago. Now he is going to have this cataract surgery soon . It it a normal pratice or procedure to do cataract surgery on someone who has glacoma and are these eye clinics safe?

Just temporarily, until such time as cataract surgery solves the problem.
“Ignoramus”, you seem to be saying it’s not possible to correct it with a lens, but only to disable it. Does that imply there is no such thing as a lens to correct double vision?
“Spectacle”, I get the impression you’re talking about correcting double vision of both eyes, by displacing the image in one eye to match the other. But the problem I’m talking about is double vision in one eye.

L22SL asked:
I have bad eyesight from my younger days. Recently I have been diagnosed with Glaucoma (responding to treatment). Dr. says getting a cataract operation will improve my sight. I do not have any cataracts in my eyes. I am 45 years old, female. I have Type 2 Diabetes (though taking Insulin) but no retinopathy. I am short sighted as well as have astigmatism. Is it true that getting a cataract done – replacing lenses has some risks and the operation can go wrong?

Dawn asked:
My eye doctor says I was born with cataracts, they were little but the one in my left eye seems to be getting bigger. I am VERY near sighted with astigatisim and now need bifocals. I see just fine when I wear my glasses. But aside from doctor doing more tests (which I really can’t afford) What happens when the cataract gets too large?

I have two very different hobbies: birdwatching and dollhouse miniatures. I am told I need to have cataract surgery done. I am worried about how the outcome will affect my ability to do these two very different types of hobbies. Any thoughts?
