Is it possible to correct with an eyeglass lens, double vision caused by a cataract?

Dilbert asked:

Just temporarily, until such time as cataract surgery solves the problem.
“Ignoramus”, you seem to be saying it’s not possible to correct it with a lens, but only to disable it. Does that imply there is no such thing as a lens to correct double vision?
“Spectacle”, I get the impression you’re talking about correcting double vision of both eyes, by displacing the image in one eye to match the other. But the problem I’m talking about is double vision in one eye.

One could put a very blurry lens in the side with the monocular diplopia. This would make you “one-eyed” but you would not notice the double vision.
The real treatment is to fix the cataract.
    Good luck.

Not if the double vision is only in one eye and is caused by the cataract. Only cataract surgery will help.

We can put what is called prism in to your eyeglass correction to take away the imbalance so that you can see without being double.. once you get the surgery and have it corrected, you would then have a different prescription and maybe not need the prism anymore. Ask your doctor!
