Based on the -2.50 and -2.25, you should be eligible – my doctor told me that I am eligible, and my vision is much worse than that (-7.00!!!) He also said that in order to be eligible, your vision has to remain stable for 2 years – so, if the next time you go to the optometrist, if your vision has changed, you would have to wait.
I have no idea on the Air Force part of the question.
Without seeing an Ophthalmologist, there is no way to tell if you are a candidate for PRK. You have to have multiple tests and measurements in order to be told if you are qualified for any type of eye procedure. See an Ophthalmologist.
first of all, you don’t want PRK….that is old school and not as accurate as Lasik or wavefront laser….the airforce does accept people that have had lasik, but for people without it, they need an uncorrected visual acuity of 20/70 or better which is a stretch for someone with a -225 or -250 prescription…you are more in the 20/100 to 20/200 range. good luck!
